This track from Kansas/Colorado black metal outfit Marsh of Swans has a sludgy metronomic feel to it. Released in September 2023, Heartwood is a formulaic approach to atmospheric melodic metal with quiet growling vocals that almost sound like a whisper set to a steady symphony of bass and drums.
