LION MODE is a song by Larry The Lion, a solo project of multi-instrumentalist Larry Lee Hansen. It was released on April 20, 2023 as the debut single of his album LION MODE: VOL 1. The song is a blend of metal, hardcore, punk, and nu-metal genres, influenced by bands like Norma Jean, Glassjaw, and Underoath. The lyrics express Larry’s anger, frustration, and determination to overcome the challenges he faced during the pandemic and his hiatus from his previous band Balsam Grove.
The song features fast punk-inspired drums, down-tuned heavy metal riffs, and classic nu-metal soundscapes that create an aggressive and dynamic listening experience. There is also has a remix version called LION MODE (Mad Mushroom Mix), which adds more electronic elements to the original track.
