“Demetrius is a hip hop artist based out of the Route 40 corridor of Frederick, Maryland. He made his music debut in 2020 with the singles “Trigger”, “Deadwood”, and “Big Bruce” which later evolved into the EP, “Rolling Potomac”. Making it clear that he’s an artist that knows himself from the very beginning, the project displayed a level of assurance that is often not shown in the early stages of music development. Since then, the 26 year old rapper has set a goal of separating himself from the pack by solidifying his sound and improving in all sectors of music (writing, instrumentation, production, etc.). His latest release of the EP, “Before We Lose The Summer” is truly testaments of growth and potential that he as still yet to tap into as a writer and as an artist. With honesty and authenticity as the foundation of his lyrics, you don’t have to ask him much, just listen.”
And now on to some real talent! Maryland rapper Demetrius delivers a conscious and tightly woven lyrical tapestry with his December 2023 release Above The Law. Complete with a grooving lo-fi backdrop and politically illustrative lyrical work, this track speaks to a golden age of hip-hop paired with the undercurrent of world events, speaking to themes of wrongful imprisonment and police brutality.
