“9.7 RICHTER is one of the few advocates of the modern heavy metal genre from Romania, with a diversified approach, a fresh and actual sound and driven by both classic and contemporary trends. In May 2010, 9.7 RICHTER launches “Epicenter”, the band’s first EP. It was called “the most solid material [metal music] of 2010” (Carteadenisip.ro) and following its launch, 9.7 RICHTER has been invited to take part in important festivals. In July 2014, “Sinner” is released, the first single from what would be the new 9.7 RICHTER studio album, accompanied by the band’s first video. “Sinner” has seen success beyond expectations on social media and also being broadcasted on known radio stations. On October 8, 2014, the new album, “Ground Zero” is released under Universal Music Romania. On this occasion, 9.7 RICHTER throws it’s special launch party, along with guests from bands Trooper, Breathelast and Goodbye To Gravity in The Silver Church Club in Bucharest. In early 2015, “Ground Zero” was nominated for both Maximum Rock Awards, as well as Metalhead Awards for “Best Romanian Album”, “Sinner” beeing in turn nominated for “Best Romanian Rock/Metal Video” at Maximum Rock Awards. The band has been also nominated for “Best Romanian Metal Band” and “Best Live Show” at Maximum Rock Awards. In February 2015, during the gala for Maximum Rock Awards, “Ground Zero” was named as the winner of the “Best Romanian Metal Album”, while “Sinner” won the “Best Romanian Rock/Metal Video” category.”
Snaring us with a grooving synth intro, this track from Romanian metal band is a complex composition with too many memorable moments to list. The instrumentals are extremely diverse, starting off slow and steady and quickly building into a harmonious chaos of different sounds and styles. A little melodic here and a lot heavy there, this is not a band to sleep on!
