“Since his first album in 2003, Toronto DJ/producer/rap veteran More Or Les has performed across Canada, in far flung regions as diverse as Texas and Osaka, and released nine albums to critical acclaim. He’s collaborated with international underground legends including Blueprint, Chip-Fu of the Fu-Schnickens, and UK Hip Hop / jazz combo The Herbaliser.
Also on the tip of collaboration, Les is a member of the Canadian Rap collective Backburner, working frequently with Rap luminaries Ghettosocks, Wordburglar, Swamp Thing, Jesse Dangerously, and Fresh Kils, among others.
On his Rap releases, you can find Les spitting multisyllabic lyrical essays over true school beats on topics of a serious to geeky nature – from the sugar slave trade, gun control, and smartphone obsession to Klingons, comics, and BRUNCH!“
Recently, I learned that nerd in Spanish in some places is “cerebro” and it’s the first thing that comes to mind when I hear this track. As someone who has spent a lot of time in my life hanging out at arcades and playing old school Marvel vs Capcom and the like, More or Les’s entire body of work is right up my alley. Ol Man Logan was released just a couple weeks ago and if you’ve been sleeping on it, you better WAKE UP. An old school hip hop vibe with a nerdy twist and chock full of references that other nerds will love, the production value is sky high and the lyrics are tight and highly intelligent.
