“Drawing heavy influence from all decades of rock with bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, blink-182, Linkin Park, A Day to Remember, and Bring Me the Horizon, Turning Tides is creating their own version of modern rock where there are no genre boundaries, blending rock, alternative rock, post-grunge, post-hardcore, and metalcore.
At the end of 2020, the band finished 5 songs for their upcoming album, Across the Atlantic, leading with the song, “Faith.” It’s a song about believing in yourself even during your greatest doubts. It alludes to God and Jesus. The next single, Take You For A Ride” is a pop punk/post-grunge smash about struggling with bipolar disorder. The band’s upcoming single, “Off Axis” is post-hardcore/metalcore track that delivers a powerful and angsty message. It’s about the overall chaotic year of 2020, focusing in on George Floyd and the overall political divide.“
Written during the solitude of 2020-21’s lockdown and quarantine, this latest release from US metalcore band Turning Tides addresses the America’s turmoil over police brutality and political divide in an introspective and emotional deep dive. With a laser focus on the catalyst for the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests that was the cold-blooded murder of George Floyd, Turning Tides gives musical voice to a resounding sense of sadness and disgust over the imperialist machine that is the American Police State and Military Industrial Complex.
