Shanghai Phantom – Water On My Wrist (feat. Ted Park)

“Born in Shanghai, China, Shanghai Phantom, born Andy Zhang, grew up in the French Concession area, absorbing both western and Chinese culture in his childhood. In 2008, he went to the states and lived in Atlanta, GA, for the summer, exchanging lifestyles with locals, and he started to move in between the U.S. and his home country ever since.
In May 2020, Shanghai Phantom graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. Specializing in Classical piano and singing tenor in the gospel choir, he gained bunches of performing experiences in various stages like bars, churches, clubs, and concert halls. He also achieved a certain level of music production by taking college-level courses with Grammy-award audio engineer Steve Roessner, and he did intensive studio training programs with Award-winning producers like Lee Evans and William Billy Butler in New York City, refining his producing skills.”

Described by the artist as a blend of “luxury with hustle” and “unique mix of ambition and grit”, Water On My Wrist is the latest release from Chinese born hip hop artist Shanghai Phantom. A delicious and catchy piece of storytelling, this track also features the guest talents of Ted Park. A rich concoction of melodic trap and cloud hop, Shanghai Phantom does here what he does best which is stir together impeccable pop songwriting with an underground hip hop vibe to create a unique and vivid sound.
