Meet AILSHA, Ireland’s ‘Princess of Gaeilgoths’. The pink-haired alt-metal (more specifically ‘sparklecore’) artist has rapidly shot to fame since beginning her alternative music project in 2023. Selling out shows with MCD Productions, coming second in Ireland’s Eurosong competition for Eurovision in 2024 with her hit track ‘Go Tobann’, and even becoming a radio presenter for an alternative music show, ‘AMPLIFY’, in RTÉ (Ireland’s national broadcaster), AILSHA has proven to be a leading force in Ireland’s alternative music scene.
If Rico Nasty, Monochromatic Black, and Poppy combined to form an Irish sprite with an eviscerating sound and distinctive sense of style, AILSHA would be the result. This latest release from the alt-metal artist gives the girlies, as well as everyone and anyone with a white hot neon appetite for adorable destruction, a new icon to rally around. Press Start is like the high octane rapid fire video game soundtrack of your overstimulated electric fever dreams, impeccably composed and produced, and making AILSHA a new fave to watch out for.
