Founded in Spring of 2021, Embers of Dawn is a metal band with roots in Jacksonville, Florida and Santa Barbara, California. While the band is American, their musical influences are predominantly European. The band’s style is a hybrid of cyber/industrial metal textures with melodic deathmetal guitar riffing, reflecting influences such as PAIN, Sybreed, Mnemic, Soilwork, and more.
Taking a well-loved song from an iconic Industrial band like Type O Negative and transforming it is a tall order for anyone, let alone an independent band such as Embers of Dawn. But that’s exactly what they’ve done here. The Florida based band’s rendition of Wolf Moon takes an already quintessential brooding sound and pumps up the octane just enough that their version is perhaps even more true to the genre than the original. With grimy grinding electronic details and ominous percussion throughout, Embers of Dawn proves that they are a force to be reckoned with in doom metal.
