A complex blend of math rock, post-metal, industrial, and a bit of funk, this is the newest effort from Brazilian instrumental duo known as “can sad”. Leading with grimy grinding bass, triangle, and rich commanding percussion progressions, Carolina Reaper rewrites the book on experimental genre-bending instrumental music and manages to deliver conceptual mythology as well. As stated above, their latest single comes with a booklet that recounts the backstory of the track, a very clever and impassioned move. It’s not often that artists allow aspects of their music to exist solely in the analog nowadays, so it’s a refreshing change.
