When we last heard from Dutch band ILÆNDER it was after their release of Push back in July, and now they’re back with their electrifying new release Crown. Described by the band as having a “Deftones vibe”, Crown has an eeriness to it that is perfectly suited to the season while also demonstrating an emotional narrative at its core. With a grimy grinding guitar as the centerpiece, ILÆNDER isn’t afraid to switch gears back and forth between slow melodic breaks and aggressive gritty verses, making for a very dynamic composition. As the lead single from their upcoming EP, Crown is a perfect taste and tease of what may be in store for us as listeners in the near future.
