The first single from their upcoming album Doors of the Dead, this newest release is from Finnish metal band Antipope. Taking the energy and tone of classic thrash metal, Treasure in the Deep is a symphonic whirlwind of potent progressions and soaring vocal performances. With their album due out October 25th, the band describes this track as taking “you straight into epic world of Kalevala.” Exactly what Kalevala is, we’re not sure, but if Treasure in the Deep is any indication of the caliber of storytelling Antipope is dealing in, then I’m sure we’re in for quite a ride.
