“Hello, and thank you for joining me on this musical journey.
I am Ichinomoto Yu, a Japanese artist dedicated to exploring the joy of expression through music.
I create music using AI. Due to spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), I cannot sing or play instruments. I use tools like Suno and Udio to transform my sensibilities into music. I enjoy using AI to bring the music I envision in my mind to life.
We live in an era where music is influenced by individual values. This allows for new challenges! Music is about enjoying sound. Isn’t it wonderful how vast and infinite this world is?
Just as music and thinking have evolved, I look forward to the evolution of AI in music. I don’t make extreme adjustments to the AI output. Even if the treble is sharp, the bass is crushed, or the vocals are unique, I find these imperfections enjoyable. Music should be fun and constantly evolving. While many artists strive for perfect sound quality and structure, I focus on enjoying the process of making music.
My work doesn’t stick to specific genres. If I have an image I want to create, I will challenge myself to make it happen, enjoying the process along the way. Music is like creating a new language entirely based on my sensibilities, and I will continue this challenge as long as I live.
I am deeply grateful to all the listeners who enjoy my diverse music. Thanks to you, my music is filled with joy. Thank you, and I hope you continue to enjoy my music.”
Here’s a fascinating piece in the conversation about the rise of AI in art and music: Ichinomoto Yu is a prime example of the power and potential of AI as a tool of expression for those who are differently abled and the ways it can help pave the way in the future. With a beautiful similarity in vocal cadence to Paramore’s Hayley Williams mixed with glitchy electronic elements, a blend of diverse sounds and influences combine to bring us this crossover of metalcore, electronicore, and post-hardcore. High octane and beautifully artificial, we’re very happy to spotlight Ichinomoto’s approach to fulfilling all their musical and artistic dreams.
