Chain Home

Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal
– Norway –

“Chain Home is a Norwegian Thrash/Prog inspired Metal band from the city of Fredrikstad. The band started up in 2015 and released their first album “Instincts” on July 28th 2018. The band started to earn recognition in 2017 after competing in UKM leading to a spot in the Norwegian rock/metal festival “Tons Of Rock” in Halden, Norway and “Månefestivalen” in their home city Fredrikstad. The bands lineup consist of founding members and cousins Amund Johansen (Drums) and William Johansen (Lead Vocals/Guitar) as well as Morten “Edvik” Haugen (Backing Vocals/Guitar) and Fredrik Olsson (Backing vocals/Bass). Their sound has been said to resemble early Metallica and Iron Maiden as well as some pieces of Industrial and Prog. The band went on a 5-year hiatus in 2018, but are as of 2023 officially back together and working on new material.”
With their first single in 5 years, Free, having released back in October 2023, Chain Home is on the rise and poised for a strong comeback. With two new singles since then, Burn and Martyr, respectively, this metal powerhouse of a band is quickly rising in the ranks of modern metal and jumpstarting an already established presence in the genre.
“BURN is an unapologetic, fast and epic metal song, with elements from thrash, metalcore and even drum n bass. Watch out for the breakdown.”
A rapid-fire and grooving concoction of thrash and metalcore, Burn is the middle child in the band’s trio of new singles and gives a strong impression of a thirst to prove both resiliency and versatility within a genre. The beauty of this track is it clearly signifies Chain Home’s dedication to proving just how many forms of metal they can master.
“This song is heavily inspired by the life and death of Aleksej Navalnyj. It is hard-hitting, dark and epic. We personally love the chorus and the outro. Our first venture into modern metal.”
A potent blend of prog-metal and melodic metal, Martyr was release just last month and features plucky bass guitar details throughout and a deep, steady and undulating percussion presence. Emotional and innovative in both concept and narrative delivery, this track marks the clear progression of the band from comeback kids to re-established professionals.
