The latest release from Australian nu-metal outfit Suffer The Evenue, this track takes a diverse collection of influences, including early 00’s alt-metal and swirls them up with a rap metal writing style. Though it’s a bit on the nose, A New Empire gives us a political lyrical experience that rides high on a heavy bass presence combined with a potent vocal delivery. The composition itself is a feat of innovation, ebbing and flowing the soundscape throughout to provide a much-needed sense of depth to the track. Where Suffer The Evenue’s latest endeavor really shines is when it dares to depart from the literal translation of politics into music and allows creativity to truly soar.
