“Beards & Whiskey is an independent 4-piece rock band from the greater Philadelphia area that was founded in 2014. The music could be categorized under many different rock sub-genre’s as it pulls inspiration from influences that range from 70’s metal, 80’s blues rock, 90’s grunge, 2000’s nu metal, alternative metal, alternative rock, and post-grunge. Beards & Whiskey has been recording its sophomore album with producer Derek Salazar. The new songs are leaving the debut album’s southern rock sound behind and leaning into hard rock influences.”
Released earlier this month by Philly rock band Beards & Whiskey, this track blends together the traditional with the experimental in a seamless and tasteful way. Featuring plenty of the unexpected, particularly an eery sci-fi theramin detail during the intro, Invade is a passionate and driven ode to classic Southern Rock and 70’s metal. Who saw a classic rock anthem about an alien invasion coming? We certainly didn’t.
