“John Wolfhooker is a four-piece rock band from Prague known for breaking the borders of musical genres, technical instrumental parts, catchy choruses and energetic live shows. The four shared love for The Beatles, Periphery, My Chemical Romance, Bring Me The Horizon and Billy Talent and the band’s sound rises from those influences. Their songs include genres spreading from post hardcore, pop punk or funk to progressive metal. The band is noted for the talent of it’s guitarist, Rony Janecek, who is considered one of the Europe’s best guitarists of his generation. During their existence, the band has released more than 20 music videos, recorded three full length albums and played several festivals including Rock For People, Aerodrome, Mighty Sounds and one of the biggest Canadian music festivals – Envol Et Macadam in Quebec with headlining bands such as Rise Against or Despised Icon. Besides these groups, John Wolfhooker have also shared stage with bands like Hollywood Undead, Marmozets, Enter Shikari, Sleeping With Sirens, Anti-Flag, Hands Like Houses or Our Last Night.”
Accompanied by a clean and graphic lyric video with over 2K views on Youtube, this latest release from Czech Republic metalcore band John Wolfhooker features some really dynamic and high octane instrumental compositions. Diving right in with a chuggy guitar, Ember psyches us out by dipping into a slow tempo and softer vocal before jolting us back up into a scream vocal and pounding drums. This cycle repeats a few times, creating a wild roller coaster ride and making for a musical experience that doesn’t have a single dull moment and culminates in an electrifying breakdown and finale. Impeccably written and professionally produced, John Wolfhooker isn’t fucking around here.
