An experimental and chaotic track that combines elements of noise, industrial, and hardcore, Arbeit Macht Frei was released earlier this month by Canadian band Quebec Nihilism Front. A grimy and metallic (in more than just the genre) soundscape that surges forth from the very first second, Arbeit Macht Frei is a triumph in grinding cross-genre noise-making and sonic story-telling together to create an almost painterly brutalist vibe. The band delivers a truly potent one-two punch that knocks the listener’s lights out . . . over and over . . . and over again.
