US hip hop artist John Alex Harper released this fire blend of conscious and old school hip hop early this month and fans are loving it so far, with some commenting on the smooth it is. And indeed the vocal delivery is slick but in a way that feels easy and relaxed. The overall vibe of Whiplash is astonishingly laid back and sinks into its own perfection like warm butter. Lyrically, John Alex Harper manages to achieve a catchiness and groove while maintaining a personally sincere narrative soundscape.
