Released just last month from US metalcore band Gloomchild, this is the lead single on their upcoming album. The first instrumental jump has you thinking this is an entirely different kind of track, with a grooving hard rock guitar, but that illusion is quickly shattered by the Circa Survive reminiscent vocal performance that ensues. The vocals are most definitely the star of Death Dream and they are impressively heartfelt to say the least. There’s a deeply felt sense of sorrow and broodiness to Gloomchild that really cuts through the listener and inspires a sincere sense of empathy for the story being told.
