Released earlier last month from Utah grunge band Mortigi Tempo, this track comes in with slumped shoulders and a stoner shoegaze vibe that is right at home in your friend’s parents’ garage where band practice happens. The overall effect is a loving callback to the earlier 90’s when things were definitely simpler and music felt more sincere for the most part. MODERN DOG feels like an honest and home-brewed production and manages to tie in some really decent instrumental talent, relatively innovative compositions, and even has some cool voiceover moments. A definite success for Mortigi Tempo!
