“Coming from four different backgrounds It Kills You formed in 2022 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On 5/27/22 they dropped their Debut single ‘ Unseen ‘ bringing back the early 2000’s EMO vibes with a little twist of a modern sound, the song it self will get stuck in your head with its catchy sing-along chorus, riffs and lyrics. Five months after the first single the band dropped their second single called Succubus, pushing the boundaries with their new track meeting a darker tone and sound. Later that year the band released their Debut EP called ‘ Worse Than You Expected Better Than You Hoped For ‘ on November 12, 2022. Heading into the new year of 2023 the band stormed out the gates playing show after show and opened for some well named acts such as Butcher Babies , Kissing Candice , Alesana , @Vampires Everywhere! . The band ended out 2023 with a bang and are officially writing for their second EP set to be released in 2025. In the meantime the group dropped two concept singles. Their first single on July 10th called Leeches bringing back that nostalgic feelings for listeners with its upbeat tempo and heart felt beautiful vocals. Two months later on September 5th, 2023 they dropped a vicious single called Ashes 2 Nails. Ending the year out the band released a remix of “ Too Late For Comfort “ off their Ep produced by Starlight Boy. New Era , Chapter begins.“
Coming up on the 2 year anniversary, this was the debut single of Oklahoma based screamo band It Kills You and it definitely deserves a revisit. A tad formulaic at times, Unseen is everything we want from a screamo track with catchy choruses and an upbeat, almost pop, attitude that turns the tables with gritty heavy vocals to punctuate. With chuggy guitar riffs and a powerful drum section, It Kills You succeeded on their first launch with this track.
