The Stolen Moans – Dada Catapult

“Defying genres and expectations, The Stolen Moans are far more than just a punk trio. They embody a gloriously unhinged DIY ethos of dark aesthetic humor, discordant sounds, and wildly cathartic wordplay. On the surface, the band’s formation seems improbable, bridging vastly diverse musical tastes among its members, ranging from Pop to Punk, Soul to Jazz, Classical to Hip Hop, and of course Metal. Yet, it’s this very blend of disparate influences that fuels The Stolen Moans’ genre-bending alchemy. Their repertoire spans from frenzied No Wave earworms heralding the apocalypse to glacial high-concept soundscapes, showcasing a fearless approach where no sonic territory is off-limits. However, the band is governed by one unspoken mandate – it must unequivocally ‘Rock.'”

This latest track from Los Angeles based DIY punk trio The Stolen Moans is an energetic patchwork of punk attitude, 90’s grunge grit, and the stylish sensibility that is reminiscent of bands like Veruca Salt and The Donnas. To say this track would be right at home on the soundtrack of Jawbreaker or Daria would be right on the money. A delectable blend of chuggy guitar and almost new wave/B-52’s style vocal effects, if they keep it up with tracks like this then The Stolen Moans are definitely punk superstars on the rise.
