“Hex Date is a modern alternative rock project based out of Los Angeles, California taking its place in the scene by storm. Hex Date’s sound mixes elements of genre defying acts like Deftones, The Cranberries and Phantogram but with the sophistication and grungy edge of today’s modern Metal. Composed of Mars Rose (Vocals), Ginx Rannochio (Guitar), Hades Morningstar (Bass), and Johnny Hex (Drums); the female led rock band had an instant chemistry after meeting in January 2023 through playing for other bands in the local LA alternative scene. Although all of their musical backgrounds varied, they were able to come together on the idea of wanting to bring a “sensuality” that’s been missing in heavier music for a long time.“
With an overall very fresh feel, this second single from LA based melodic metal band Hex Date is a haunting narrative track about heartbreak and mental anguish. Featuring chugging guitar amid an atmospheric overture instrumental, Define Insanity, the band “we definitely went for a heavier approach but keeping our melodic presence, make sure to check out the first breakdown and the last chorus”. The end effect is a potent combination of catchy and epic-ly dark all at once.
