What makes a good cover song? Honestly, it’s very simple, yet not as simple as you’d think: transform the original work while remaining true to its essence. Detroit duo Sharp Lives does just that while adding a Sapphic air to the entire production with their cover of the 2019 release The Offering by Sleep Token. This rendition of The Offering is both haunting with its ethereal and echoing intro and vocal performance and grounded in some deep percussion tones.
