Now, upon first listening, we know the first name on everyone’s lips will be “Rammstein”, but it is in fact Stahlengel, another German industrial/gothic metal band with some serious chops and musical prowess to show the world. The style is similar to that of Rammstein and they are clearly an influence, but Stahlengel ‘s Steh auf is much more measured and grooving than the former’s more popular work. Released just last month, Steh auf has a narrative quality to the songwriting and boasts some very interesting sampling details such as a what sounds like a choir lamentation. Add this one to our list of favorite artists to watch out for!
