A straightforward track with an honest and simple message about goals and hustle, a pretty typical and exhausting hip hop/rap subject matter these days in the blazing fall of capitalism. But what is most striking about this track from UK artist Jamal Blaq is that the sense of determination described in the narrative feels genuine, something that is too often lacking in other tracks with the same message. Jamal makes us believe that he’s dedicated and powering through and the extra tight flow and songwriting only drives that impression further home.
