“Based in Macclesfield, Queen Cult was formed by lead vocalist and guitaristĀ Maisie Johnson, withĀ Brodie CarsonĀ on drums andĀ Piers JarvisĀ on bass.
Unapologetically queer, Queen Cult released their fierce and politically charged debut EPĀ ‘Woman That I Know‘ in January 2022 and a second EP,Ā āFor Now Not Foreverā, followed in February 2023.Ā Ā A couple of stand-alone singles followed in 2023, including their first ever self-produced single, āSneaky Freaqueā.
Queen Cultās music has landed the band support across Spotify playlists such asĀ New Music Friday UK, All New Rock, Rainbow, Pulp, Shockwave, Fresh FindsĀ and Apple playlists includingĀ The New Rock, Alternative RockandĀ New In Rock. They have also picked up specialist plays on radio stations includingĀ BBC Radio 1, KerrangĀ andĀ 6 Music.“
The third and latest single from UK rock band Queen Cult, The Hand Lender is a catchy and high octane post-punk one-two-punch. Released just 10 days ago, this track takes a high energy punk attitude and blends it up into a spiraling tale of sexual madness. This is definitely the kind of track that will be a lot of fun to experience live, and you can do just that, if you’re based in the UK. Queen Cult started the first of many live shows of 2024 back in February and is continually adding more dates.
Check out their upcoming shows below . . .Ā after you check out The Hand Lender and hear for yourself!
