It’s getting more and more difficult to bring progressive music acts to the spotlight. Pink Floyd enjoyed the spotlight when they debuted Dark Side of the Moon. I think someone in the mainstream that might be comparable is Kendrick Lamar. Someone who has enjoyed huge success while being a progressive artist. But that’s rare.
So is Zatokrev.
Let me introduce them with this 13 minute composition. This song is everything in one coherent piece of music and I love it.
We start off with something lighter, feigning on a ballad. Still eerie and dark nonetheless but it almost doesn’t prepare you for the drop. When the heavy vocals kick in and we hit the peak of the song’s energy; we are no longer here and now. We are taken somewhere else completely. This is an ode to spiritual angst and a force that fans a fire in us making us feel that we are capable of so much more. We are apart of something larger than ourselves and though it is dark and foreboding; we can be apart of this great power…ย this power is within us.
When we calm back down and prepare for the next burst of energy; we are only 8 minutes into the song. I don’t want to give the rest away but I’m sure you can guess what’s happening next. This song is for people whoย love music and want to feel that power within themselves; spiritual energy.
I’m urging you to listen through this. I don’t just recommend music for the sake of clicks and views. This blog is different and so is the quality of music that I premiere.
