With heavy-handed instrumental verses and ambient/atmospheric backing vocals, this September release from Czech metalcore band Newspeak takes us on a complex musical journey. The drums are pounding and the lead vocals are shredding, but the most impressive aspects of this track are actually the little details in moments of piano/keyboard instrumentals that help to tie the picture together. Painterly is a perfect way of succinctly describing this band’s work.
