HOLY FAWN’s “Death Spells” is Pure Art

HOLY FAWN came to my attention last week when I stumbled across their song “Drag Me Into the Woods”. Accompanied by a video, this song immediately pulled me in. Usually, I’m looking for the heaviest music on the market. And on first listen this song wouldn’t be on my radar. But when I got all the way through I knew:

This band is one of the most innovative out right now.

Hailing from Arizona, HOLY FAWN brings together atmospheric, ambient music with heavy metal and punk riffs unlike any band I’ve ever heard. This song had to be posted. HOLY FAWN has created a journey; an entire experience ready for your eyes and ears.

I honestly can’t get enough of these guys. “Death Spells” is pure art and a project I will be coming back to again and again.

Dylan ‘N’ Alice are the Nu Metal Revival

A revival is happening. The sounds of the early 2000’s are coming back around in rock, metal and hip hop.

Dylan ‘N’ Alice from Hollywood are apart of this wave. Paying homage to the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park covering their hit “Given Up” they have a sound that is very reminiscent of early 2000’s rock.

Their latest release “Lonely Hunter” is everything you would expect. Drawing from groups like Breaking Benjamin and Bullet for My Valentine; Dylan’N’Alice put together a song that is energetic and memorable. One of those guilty pleasure songs that you got to keep replaying over and over again.

Welcome to Mojo Bozo’s Electric Circus

Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland; Mojo Bozo’s Electric Circus is an ensemble unlike any other. These guys are pushing the boundaries of psychedelic rock and going into territory unexplored by most of their contemporaries.

Their song, “Paranoia”, caught my radar recently. This song is well composed to put lightly. An experience is how I would describe it; the makings of a rock opera.

The Walsh brothers (Ryan and Shane) are joined by Jeremy Hayes and let me tell you; these guys have true grit. Real charisma. A fiery zeal burns through the song and stays with you even after it’s finished. I recommend this song to any metal music connoisseur and especially for new musicians who want to know what great, experimental song writing sounds like.

This Album was Recorded in a Forest in Switzerland

From the land of chocolate, off-shore money laundering, and neutrality in war time; Coalescer brings something completely unique to the table.

A Gothic and grim look at the plight of the future of human life. Eerie and melodic moods bring their vision to life. Its fitting that nearly all of this album was recorded in a forest.

I don’t want to give too much of this album away. I’ve listened through the whole thing and enjoyed it quite a bit. Definitely a band that’s now on my radar.

I, VALIANCE Makes the Jump to Hip Hop with “Three Daggers”

Typically a progressive metal outfit; I, VALIANCE has decided to take a shot at combining rap and metal.

I think having a background in extreme metal helps make the best product. This song doesn’t compromise its sound at all; which you know I enjoy a lot. Subversive and in your face; exactly what I’m looking for.
