“Like the name of the band, which means ‘gravedigging’, Doguul’s main motif is a modern interpretation of old school metal music. They have a wide range of musical backgrounds, from hard rock and heavy metal to thrash, death and black metal, and present unique music with a strong addition of punk, especially hardcore punk and grindcore. These elements, all bound together with a little pagan-like melody line and atmospheric sound, are what make up Doguul’s music.”
This April 2023 release, from South Korean metal band Doguul, left us with our heads spinning. From beginning to end, Bludgeoned does exactly what the name promises and delivers a sonic onslaught of hammering drums and lead guitar instrumentals and growling vocals. Consider our faces melted!
