“Cillë aka Cecilie Maria Nielsen uses her unique approach to songwriting as an attempt to make sense of her life. In doing so, the Danish-born, NYC-based songwriter hopes that she might help others make sense of a few things too. After a decade in various rock bands, performing as a lead singing bass player, Cillë released her solo debut in April of 2022.”
Released early last month, this track from Danish singer-songwriter Cillë is a departure from our usual musical wheelhouse, but we’re not mad about it. Half Heart has a true 80’s feel and obvious Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks influences. The lyrics are catchy and captivating and the instrumentals make it clear that this woman is a true professional and has honed her craft through many avenues.
