“Auld Blue Eyes is the solo project of Cork musician Ian O’Callaghan. Better known for playing with Horse, Terriers, Fat Actress and more over the last 17 years, he has taken the last year to record something less frantic and violent, instead dipping in and out of screamo and post rock with heavy but anthemic vocals.“
With a moniker that plays on the nickname earned by Frank Sinatra, Auld Blue Eyes gives us an atmospheric composition that focuses on electronic influences to build this post-metal August 31, 2023 release. With a slow build that transitions into a strong drum beat, this track proves Ian O’Callaghan’s professional musicality and weaves us in and out of a sound garden that is heavy and brooding but well manicured and impeccably composed.
