After weeks of wading through song submissions, I’m so excited to be writing about this group’s latest release. When I first heard their submission, I knew I’d be counting down to when they made it to the top of the pile. This September 19, 2023 release from UK queer quartet Artio delivers an electronic sonic onslaught mixed with classic elements of alt-rock and punk. The singer’s vocal prowess really delivers with lyrics like “My existence makes you angry, that’s not my problem anymore”, a sentiment that’s all too relatable for those of us in the queer and trans community.
