Breaking Benjamin has been a household name for metal and alternative fans for as long as I can remember (their first album was released in 2002!), so it’s pretty wild to have the opportunity to write about them here. We’ve only had a handful of opportunities like this (Young Gravy and Say Anything included) up until now!
As for their latest track, released just over a week ago now, Awaken demonstrates the ways that Breaking Benjamin has managed to evolve with the metalcore scene and deliver a clean and modern sound, while maintaining loyalty to their legacy. With impeccably executed guitar progressions, catchy emotional choruses, and grinding drumwork throughout, this track is proof for why the band has over 20 years of staying power. With over 1.7 MILLION views on Youtube, this is not a track to sleep on!
