A rapid-fire, high octane delivery, both instrumentally and vocally, Den Galnes Skratt is the latest release off the debut album from Swedish metal band Månskald. Along with their impeccably composed blend of melodic and death metal, the band also have a remarkable affinity for historical detail. Svåra Tider (Hard Times), the title of the album, is a thematic work set in 18th century Sweden focusing of the hardship the peasantry faced. In fact, each of the Youtube videos corresponding with the album feature detailed descriptions with historical citations and links. An impressive body of work and research, to say the least.
