With an accompanying visualizer released just yesterday, this latest effort from UK metal band Reliquia builds multiple genre-crossing bridges throughout its almost 7 minute duration. Featuring elements of doom and sludge swirled together with classic black metal and industrial vibes, Secret Sons of the Barren Sky delivers a complex composition. It’s not often that I come across a track of this length that feels 100% worth the attention from start to finish, but this is most definitely one of them. Utilizing their time very wisely, Reliquia manages to pack every second of gloom full of interesting musical details and innovative progressions.
